Tokyo, Japan – June 19, 2025 (Published on July 7, 2025) — Xiberlinc Inc. is proud to announce its selection as a recipient of the “Subsidy for Promoting Foreign Direct Investment in Japan,” a competitive program administered by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The grant supports international companies bringing groundbreaking technologies to Japan through proof-of-concept (PoC) and implementation projects.
Under the project, "Japan-Taiwan AI Mental Health Innovation Initiative: Feasibility Examination of 'AI Counselor' Solution for Mental Health for Japanese Market", Xiberlinc will use the funding to locally validate Here Hear, an AI-powered virtual therapist system developed by Taiwan-based Bamboo Technology Ltd., which specializes in AI-based emotion recognition and mental health support. The collaboration aims to adapt the system to Japan's cultural and clinical context.
"This support from JETRO enables us to deepen our commitment to innovation in digital brain health," said Maro Machizawa, CEO of Xiberlinc. "By partnering with an overseas company (Bamboo Technology from Taiwan), we are bringing proven international solutions to serve the mental wellness needs of Japan's diverse populations by optimizing the solution to the local culture."
JETRO's program focuses on attracting investment into high-impact sectors, such as healthcare, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing. The selection of this joint initiative reflects its potential to make a meaningful contribution to Japan's innovation ecosystem.
With this milestone, Xiberlinc and Bamboo Technology are strengthening their presence in Asia and building momentum toward a shared vision: making mental wellness more accessible, personalized, and effective through cutting-edge neuroscience-based AI.
